Fungi

I'm hopeless at identifying fungi but I saw these specimens in St Andrews Park this afternoon. Will try and get them identified.

Also in the park were 9 or 10 Starlings, a couple of Goldfinches and a pair of Blackbirds.

A party of Long-tailed Tits were feeding at the station.

Montpelier Station

Despite the rain this morning I managed to find a few invertebrates - along with the usual snails and woodlice there was a tiny Rove Beetle (possibly Stenus species) and a Harvestman.

Garden birds

Jim has been keeping me up to date with the birds visiting his garden - Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Coal tits (including this one having a bath), Great tit, Blue tit, Dunnock, Robin, Woodpigeon, and Magpie visiting on and around the feeders. Many thanks Jim.

There were also Coal Tits at the station this morning and in a tree in Picton Lane. Long-tailed Tits and Chaffinches were also seen at the station and a 'White' butterfly was flying around.

Canada Geese!

Weird stuff this evening as it got dark - I was walking up Richmond Road and heard Canada Geese flying over! It was far too dark to see them. A most odd experience!

At the station this morning a Coal Tit and some Long-tailed Tits were the only birds of note.

Siskin

Friend of Wild Monty Jim says he's pretty sure he saw  a Siskin in the garden yesterday. This is an excellent record for Montpelier.
